Live Free or Die Hard will be the first to use Fox’s new Digital Copy technology, which enables people make two copies of the film for personal use. It works only with PCs and Microsoft PlaysForSure-approved media devices, but not included iPods, Sony PSPs and even Zunes. Michael Gartenberg, vice president and research director at New York-based analyst firm Jupiter Research said “If it doesn’t work on the iPod, then it doesn’t exist.” Hollywood is trying hard to make people watch the any movie anytime, anywhere but keeping the originality in mind. Steven Feldstein, senior vice president of communications for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, said “It made perfect sense to offer this level of convenience and ultimate portability for our DVD consumers,” He also said that technology is a big step toward the future.
